Favorite Thing #11 — RISE for moms
Happy Friday! Today I wanted to share one of my very favorite things of the school year with all of you — RISE for moms. RISE for moms is a group of moms who meet every other week to talk about what it means to be a mom and pursue Christ. This year we are focusing on discipleship and specifically Jesus’s words in Luke 9:23-24: “And he said to all, ‘If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.”
We are excited to dig deeper together into what it means to come after Jesus. We all know that motherhood gives us a plethora of opportunities to deny ourselves. How do we do this well? How can denying ourselves actually bring more joy and freedom? What does it mean for me to take up my cross and how could that possible mean saving my life? These are just a few of the questions we are going to be tackling each year.
Come join us for a cup of coffee, a few laughs, and a great conversation with some awesome mamas this fall. Our kickoff event at Kenwood Baptist Church tomorrow, September 11th from 9:30-11:30. After that, our groups meet in homes around the city every other week. If you can’t join us tomorrow, absolutely no worries, we’d love to see you in a week or two in one of our host homes. We still have space in our Mason, Sharonville, and Green Hills groups. You can register by clicking here. I can’t wait to kick this year off and learn and grow with all of you.
