Wednesday’s Thought – A habit of fresh starts
Today is our first homeschool day of the year. Lists are printed and in binders. Kids are . . . awake. I’m trying to remember that a main aim of us homeschooling is to make learning a lovely adventure, an enjoyable part of our everyday life. Today we must take on a fresh start of more disciplined, intentional learning. And yet, we are always learning, always growing and changing and waking to a fresh start. But for today, here is a new beginning, a switch to more disciplined, intentional learning– a change in the way we have been learning over the summer. Here’s to a fresh new school year, with all of its lovely possibilities.
“True education is a kind of never ending story — a matter of continual beginnings, of habitual fresh starts, of persistent newness.” J.R.R. Tolkien
